Salernitana have set up a clash with Napoli after seeing off Sassuolo on a penalty shoot-out following a 2-2 draw in the Fourth Round of the Coppa Italia.
Serie B leaders Sassuolo can feel hard done by, as they had twice taken the lead at the Stadio Arechi, both times through Andy Selva.
However, Salernitana kept fighting back through Giovanni Marchese and Georgios Kyriazis, the latter netting with just seven minutes remaining.
There were no more goals during extra time, so it went to penalties and Salernitana eventually came out on top 6-5.
Stefano Pagani's miss was decisive, as his spot-kick cracked against the upright.
Salernitana go through to the last 16, where they will encounter local rivals Napoli.
The remaining Fourth Round fixtures are played on Wednesday and Thursday.
