Livorno have returned to Serie A after a one-year absence by beating Brescia in the Serie B play-off final.
Francesco Tavano, Alessandro Diamanti and Martin Bergvold all scored in a 3-0 victory, which secured a 5-2 aggregate win for Gennaro Ruotolo's men.
Serie B top scorer Tavano headed in his 26th goal of the season from Diamanti's cross five minutes after half-time to open the scoring for the dominant Tuscans who finished the regular season in third.
Diamanti then got himself on the scoresheet 10 minutes later with a right-foot volley before Bergvold wrapped things up by firing under the bar at the end of a counter-attack.
Tensions boiled over in the closing stages as Brescia forward Andrea Caracciolo and Livorno substitute Fabio Galante were both shown red cards.
The victory at a packed Stadio Armando Picchi, added to a 2-2 draw in Brescia last Sunday, was more than enough to secure promotion for Livorno.
The Amaranto, who were relegated from Serie A after finishing the 2007-08 campaign bottom of the table, are promoted with Serie B champions Bari and runners-up Parma.
The trio take the places of relegated Lecce, Reggina and Torino in the top flight next season.
