Serie A - Week 34: Friday Review

A stunning late goal from Douglas Maicon helped Inter to a 2-0 defeat of ten-man Juventus, lifting the Nerazzurri two points clear of Roma at the Serie A summit until Sunday at the very least.

Inter 2-0 Juventus
Inter held off the challenge of a courageous 10-man Juventus in the Derby d'Italia to move back to the top of Serie A thanks to a 2-0 win at the San Siro. Juve were left with an uphill struggle after 37 minutes when Mohamed Sissoko was given his marching orders, but they managed to keep the defending champions at bay until a moment of magic from Douglas Maicon after 75 minutes. Samuel Eto'o sealed the win in stoppage time to take Jose Mourinho's side back above Roma in the Serie A standings ahead of the Rome derby against Lazio on Sunday evening when Claudio Ranieri's men will have the chance to regain top spot with just four games to play. Juve, meanwhile, remain three points adrift of the fourth Champions League spot with all their rivals yet to play this weekend.
