The capital giants lifted their fifth Coppa Italia trophy by edging past Sampdoria in a dramatic penalty shoot-out at the Stadio Olimpico."It is an enormous satisfaction for myself and for the club to have won this trophy," President Lotito told Rai Uno.
"It was a great victory, and I am especially happy for the players who put in so much effort to go all the way."
The triumph is the first achievement under Lotito's presidency of the club and he has promised that this is just the beginning of a bright future.
"Tonight's result was the first success of our project, and I am expecting that there will be many more to come in the future.
"Again, I am very pleased for the team, however I am also happy for the fans and for Delio Rossi, who deserved to win this match."
The success means Lazio earn a spot in next season's inaugural UEFA Europa League and also a place in August's Italian Supercoppa final in Beijing.
