Bari in Serie ASerie B leaders Bari have won promotion to Serie A on Friday night without even playing.

Third-placed Livorno lost 1-0 at home to play-off chasing Triestina thanks to a fourth-minute strike from Filippo Antonelli and with only three games remaining, the Amaranto trail Bari by 11 points.

The southern club, coached by former Juventus midfielder Antonio Conte, return to the the Italian top flight for the first time since 2001 and celebrations in the city have begun ahead of their trip to Piacenza on Saturday afternoon.

Following his success this season with the Galletti, Conte has been linked in the media with several Serie A clubs including Juve, whose coach Claudio Ranieri is under pressure after a poor run of results.

Second-placed Parma, who host Pisa on Saturday, have a six-point lead over Livorno and are on course to make an immediate return to Serie A via the second automatic promotion spot.

Teams who finish third, fourth, fifth and sixth will be involved in a play-off contest for the final promotion berth if the difference between third and fourth doesn't grow to more than nine points.
