Lazio are ready to snatch Lille starlet Stephan Lichtsteiner out from under the noses of a host of other clubs.
Reports suggest a deal has been struck for the Swiss 24-year-old worth just over £1m on a four-year contract.
"Yesterday he met with an emissary of the club to discuss Delio Rossi's tactical views," revealed agent Federico Pastorello on Nuova Spazio Radio.
"The player was very enthusiastic about the Biancocelesti proposal. This is a great opportunity for him and I think there is a very good chance the transfer will be completed swiftly.
"Tonight he should meet President Claudio Lotito, even if there is still some competition from English clubs."
Lichtsteiner, who was pictured with a Lazio scarf, is a right-back who has been playing in the French top flight since 2005. He was named as one of the Best XI of the 2007-08 campaign in Ligue 1.
