The Argentine was drafted in from Indipendiente to partner Ezequiel Lavezzi this season and has already won over the supporters.Denis bagged a hat-trick in the opening half-hour of their 10-0 victory over the local Austrian team, the first friendly match of the 2008-09 campaign.
He also impressed with his work-rate and willingness to come back and help out the midfield.
"Aside from the goals, I liked the way Denis played," noted coach Edy Reja. "He fights for every ball and has great momentum."
Inacio Pia also scored a hat-trick, while Roberto De Zerbi, Michele Pazienza, Walter Gargano and Sam Dalla Bona rounded out the result.
The Jennersdorf match also represented the debuts of Christian Maggio and Leandro Rinaudo.
"Maggio really propped up the flank and Rinaudo gave a great sense of calm to the whole defence, despite the fact he has only just arrived."
Napoli were the first Serie A club to begin their pre-season training on Wednesday in view of their UEFA Intertoto Cup ties later this month.
The Azzurri will take on the winners of Serbian side OFK Belgrade and Greeks Panionios in the Third Round on July 19/20 and July 26/27 for a spot in the UEFA Cup qualifying rounds.
