[Mercato] Moratti confirms Lampard bid

Massimo Moratti has insisted that Inter have lodged a bid with Chelsea for Frank Lampard.

Chelsea revealed in a statement earlier today that they had received an official approach from Inter but not a financial offer.

The English Premier League club made it clear they would not be selling Lampard, while coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has since stated that the player wants to stay.

The Inter owner and President Moratti does not wish to upset Chelsea and accepts the London club are entitled to reject any approach.

However, Moratti is adamant that Inter have made an offer for Lampard, and he is now waiting to find out how the situation develops.

"They replied that they have no intention of negotiating, as was their right. Now we will see," Moratti told the club's official website.

In response to Chelsea's claim that they had received 'no financial offer' for Lampard, Moratti added: "This is not true.

"There's an offer and we confirm it. However, we don't want to create any big problems.

"Am I optimistic? We will see."
