Serie A Week 31: Saturday Review

There was no change at the top of Serie A after leaders Inter and nearest pursuers Roma both drew as the gap between the two remains at four points with seven games to go.

LAZIO 1-1 INTER
Lazio added to Inter's recent frustrations by holding the two-time defending champions to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The Nerazzurri were given a chance to extend their lead over second-placed Roma to six points, but they could not take advantage. Former Lazio star Hernan Crespo did give the visitors the lead after just 11 minutes only for Tommaso Rocchi to level the score on the hour mark. Inter keeper Julio Cesar performed an absolutely stunning save onto the crossbar soon after from a Valon Behrami strike. And the home side were unlucky again not to claim all three points after Ousmane Dabo hit a screamer that clattered the underside of the bar with Cesar rooted to the spot late in the game.

CAGLIARI 1-1 ROMA
Earlier in the day, Roma failed to keep up the pressure on Inter as they could only manage a 1-1 draw at relegation-threatened Cagliari in Sardinia. The home side got off to the best possible start thanks to a Matteo Ferrari own goal, but talismanic captain Francesco Totti grabbed Roma's equaliser at the end of the first-half. The Giallorossi, who were dominant throughout the match, laid siege to their opponents' goal in search of a winner, but could not find a way past an inspired Marco Storari in the Cagliari goal.
