Cesare Prandelli has warned Fiorentina that this is "only half-time" in the UEFA Cup clash with Everton.
"It was a very good performance, but this is only half-time," said the coach after their 2-0 victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
"Next week we will be under a lot more pressure. I must compliment my lads for not giving Everton much space and this was a difficult test as they are a good side."
It has been quite a week for the Viola, who beat Juventus 3-2 in Turin to go within a point of third place in Serie A.
"We perhaps have more belief than before, as consistent good results build confidence and enthusiasm. However, we must remember that when we lose possession we must work hard and pressure the opponents."
Manuel Pasqual wreaked havoc in the Everton defence in the first half, while Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Riccardo Montolivo grabbed the goals.
"Everton covered up a lot in defence, so we were forced to shoot from distance. Pasqual had a lot of freedom, mind you, and when the whole team is in the game then the individuals can shine too.
"Winning prompts great euphoria and many of our players were probably not accustomed to it," added Prandelli.
"They’ll have to get used to it, as the taste of victory is unique."
The Viola have this 2-0 lead to take to Goodison Park next Wednesday evening, but there were some injury concerns.
"Alessandro Gamberini has heavy bruising, while Kuzmanovic felt a twinge in his thigh and decided it was best to stop. I don’t think it’s anything serious."
