CL Last 16, 2nd Leg: Tuesday Review

Holders AC Milan are out of the UEFA Champions League after late goals from Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor sent Arsenal through to the quarter-finals at the San Siro.

AC Milan 0-2 Arsenal (Agg: 0-2)
Arsenal scored twice in the last ten minutes as they beat European champions AC Milan 2-0 to clinch a spot in the last eight of the Champions League. The Premier League side needed an away goal after drawing 0-0 in the first leg two weeks ago but it looked as though the tie was heading to extra-time after they squandered a number of chances while a goal-line clearance from Fabregas kept out Paulo Maldini's flick header. Alexandre Pato, Filippo Inzaghi and Ricardo Kaka all had chances for the home side. However Fabregas, who went close to breaking the deadlock earlier with a effort that struck the crossbar, scored with a speculative 30-yard effort six minutes from time and Adebayor added a stoppage-time second as the visitors became the first ever English side to beat the Rossoneri in Milan and silence the home fans.

OTHER RESULTS: Barcelona 1-0 Celtic (Agg: 4-2) / Manchester United 1-0 Lyon (Agg: 2-1) / Sevilla 3-2 Fenerbahce (Agg: 5-5, Pens: 2-3)
