Roma have rewarded coach Luciano Spalletti with a new contract after a fine run of form that has seen the club riding high at home and abroad.
The terms of the 47-year-old's deal will be disclosed later today but the Eternal City side were "happy" to confirm the extension last night.
Spalletti joined Roma before the 2004/05 season from Udinese. After making his name at Empoli, whom he also served as a player, he went on to work at Sampdoria, Venezia and Ancona.
Roma, second in Serie A but nine points behind Inter, face Olympique Lyonnais in February and March for a place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
