[Mercato] Diego returns to Germany

Wolfsburg have completed a deal to bring Diego back to the Bundesliga from Serie A giants Juventus.

The Brazilian playmaker penned a four-year contract late on Thursday night, having moved for an undisclosed fee.

Reports suggest Wolfsburg have splashed out around 15million euros to secure the Samba star's signature.

The former Werder Bremen midfielder is now free to make his debut for his new employers in Saturday's home date with Mainz.

Having headed back to Germany, Diego will be hoping to repeat the success he enjoyed during his spell at Bremen.

He played for Bremen for three years, scoring 38 goals in 84 appearances and inspiring them to the UEFA Cup final and German Cup crown in 2009.

Identified as the leading light in that hugely-successful side, he was snapped up by Juventus last summer.

However, he failed to live up to expectations in Italy and heads to Wolfsburg just 12 months after agreeing a five-year contract in Turin.
