[Mercato] Bojinov makes Parma move

Parma have completed the signing of Bulgaria striker Valeri Bojinov from Manchester City.

The President of Parma, Tommaso Ghirardi, confirmed that the Emilia-Romagna club have completed the signing of the 24-year-old former Lecce and Fiorentina forward.

Bojinov, who spent last season on loan at Parma, had made it clear that he wished to return to Italy following an injury-ravaged three-year spell for the English outfit.

"I am very happy to announce the successful outcome of a deal that we have been pursuing since last January," Ghirardi told Sky Sport 24.

"Bojinov is now a Parma player. I am happy, it is a deal that we have been taking forward since January. Over time the price went up and down. The documents finally arrived, so we will announce all the details at a press conference on Wednesday.

"We reached an agreement with City. I am grateful to Valeri, who really wanted to stay at Parma. The details of the contract will be established between (general director Pietro) Leonardi and the staff of the player."

Reports suggest the Bulgaria international, who scored eight goals in 30 appearances last campaign, will pen a five-year deal at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
