2010 Supercoppa in Milan

The Lega Serie A have confirmed that the 2010 Supercoppa Italiana final between Inter and Roma will be at Milan's Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on August 21.

The Lega had originally announced plans to play the game in Beijing for the second consecutive year as part of a three-match in five-years deal with the Chinese authorities.

Beijing's iconic Bird's Nest hosted the traditional curtain raiser to the Italian football season last summer, when Lazio beat Inter 2-1 to take the trophy.

However, Inter have to be in Montecarlo for the UEFA Super Cup against Atletico Madrid on August 27.

The Nerazzurri protested that such a long inter-continental journey right before a big game would have a negative effect on their chances of European glory.

It is now official that the Supercoppa will be played at the San Siro in Milan on August 21.

The match is meant to be between the Scudetto holders and Coppa Italia winners. But as Inter hold both titles, Roma step in as the runner-up.

The new Serie A season kicks off on August 28 and 29.
