Triestina have the upper hand after a goalless draw in the first leg of their relegation play-out final away to Padova.
The two sides clashed last night to decide who will join Salernitana, Gallipoli and Mantova in Lega Pro 1.
The first leg was played at the Stadio Euganeo in front of 15,000 fans, but the home team were clearly short on confidence.
Rabito and Italiano had first half efforts whistle wide from distance, while Di Nardo went close with his shot charged down.
Triestina also threatened late on, but Godeas failed to finalise the counter-attack.
Padova thought they had scored the winner in stoppages when Di Nardo found space in the box, but he slipped at the crucial moment.
Because of their superior final league positioning, another draw in the second leg for Triestina at home next Saturday will be enough to keep them up.
