New ball unveiled for 2010-11 season

The Lega Calcio and Nike have today unveiled the official new ball for the 2010-11 Italian football season.

The 'Total 90 Tracer LC' will be used in the Serie A championship this coming season, with a similar version used in Serie B, the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana and in all of the Primavera youth competitions.

It was presented at the Nike Stadium in Milan by Nike Italy's General Manager Andrea Rossi and the Lega Serie A President-elect Maurizio Beretta.

Like every year the technological development of a new ball goes a step further than in the previous year and after 18 months of testing, manufacturers say the Total 90 Tracer ensures greater level of precision and accuracy, stability and visibility.

The new ball, which will also appear in England's Premier League and Spain's Primera Liga with different designs, will make its Italian debut on August 21 when Serie A champions and Coppa Italia winners Inter meet Roma in the 2010 Supercoppa Italiana final.
