[UCL] Inter secure narrow advantage

Diego Milito and Esteban Cambiasso scored to earn Jose Mourinho's Inter a narrow advantage against Chelsea in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie.

Inter 2-1 Chelsea
Inter's hopes of avoiding a fourth consecutive Champions League first knockout round defeat are alive after a goal in each half from Diego Milito and Esteban Cambiasso earned a spirited win against Chelsea in a gripping first leg. Milito set the San Siro alight with a third-minute goal but Chelsea responded strongly and, after Didier Drogba had been denied by the crossbar, Salomon Kalou levelled six minutes into the second period. Cambiasso promptly put Jose Mourinho's current club back in front against the Portuguese coach's former employers and, despite some late pressure, Inter held firm for a first win in six matches against English opposition, but Carlo Ancelotti's side have the away-goal ahead of the return match in London on March 16.
