Mutti returns to Atalanta hotseat

Experienced coach Bortolo Mutti has been appointed as the latest boss of struggling Serie A side Atalanta.

Bortolo MuttiThe 55-year-old returns to the club he last coached in the 1998-99 campaign with the Bergamaschi second from bottom in the top flight, having taken just one point in their last five games.

The former Napoli and Reggina boss is the third coach at Atalanta this term, following Angelo Gregucci and then Antonio Conte into the hotseat.

Conti resigned on Thursday after replacing Gregucci in September following four defeats in the first four league matches of the campaign.

A statement on the club's official website said: "Atalanta announces Bortolo Mutti will guide the first team and will be unveiled to the media tomorrow."

His first game back in charge of Atalanta will be the home clash against Lazio on Sunday.
