Siena have completed the signing of Alexandros Tziolis from Panathinaikos.
The Greece international is set to undergo a medical in Tuscany before putting the finishing touches to his move.
Siena have yet to confirm the length of contract offered to the 24-year-old midfielder.
The move will allow Tziolis to experience Italian football for the first time, with the vast majority of his career so far spent in his homeland.
He started out at Panionios, before making a switch to Athens-based giants Panathinaikos in 2005.
After slipping down the pecking order with Pana he was loaned to German side Werder Bremen for the second half of the 2008-09 campaign.
Tziolis returned to Greece at the start of the current campaign, but struggled to hold down regular first-team football and has decided the time is right to take on a new challenge.
