[UCL] MD4 Tuesday Review

Milan 1-1 Real MadridAC Milan were denied back-to-back comeback wins over Real Madrid after they had a goal disallowed in a 1-1 draw, while Juventus edged closer to the knock-out stages with a win in Israel.

Milan 1-1 Real Madrid
The honours were shared at San Siro after Karim Benzema's 29th-minute strike for an enterprising Real Madrid was cancelled out by Ronaldinho's penalty six minutes later. Two weeks after AC Milan won 3-2 in a dramatic finale in Spain, the sides settled for a draw which kept the hosts top of Group C ahead of Los Merengues on goal difference, while Marseille moved to within a point of both clubs after their 6-1 victory over Zurich. Leonardo's side, who had another goal against Real wrongly disallowed, welcome Marseille in a crunch match on November 25.

Maccabi Haifa 0-1 JuventusMaccabi Haifa 0-1 Juventus
Juventus took a huge stride towards the last 16 after a dogged 1-0 win at Maccabi Haifa, whose fourth straight loss confirmed their elimination from this year's competition. Mauro Camoranesi struck in first-half added time and his goal ultimately secured the points for Juve, who had the upper hand for large swathes of the contest but could not add to their tally. The win leaves them well placed to progress from Group A with a four-point gap over third-placed Bayern Munich, who lost at home to group leaders Bordeaux. Ciro Ferrara's men travel to the French club on Matchday 5.
