[Mercato] Cagliari snap up Dessena

Cagliari have signed Sampdoria midfielder Daniele Dessena for an undisclosed fee.

Daniele DessenaThe Italy Under-21 international has opted to leave Sampdoria for a new challenge at Cagliari after failing to feature regularly in Genoa.

Dessena is delighted to be making the move to Cagliari after attracting interest from several other clubs.


"I'm delighted to sign for Cagliari and I am just glad this whole saga is finally over," said Dessena.

"I spoke to several friends - people like Francesco Pisano, Robert Acquafresca, and Gianfranco Zola - and they all said that Cagliari was the ideal place for me. I feel honoured to wear the Rossoblu shirt."

The Sardinian club have also snapped up Juventus youngster Lorenzo Ariaudo on loan for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Sampdoria have brought in Empoli forward Nicola Pozzi on a loan agreement.

Pozzi has agreed a season-long loan deal and will add options to Gigi Del Neri's attacking alternatives, which includes Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini.
