Vico Equense caused a major surprise in the first round of the Coppa Italia as they knocked out Rimini.
The Campania outfit, who were awarded a spot in Lega Pro 2 this week, came from behind to record a 2-1 win at the Stadio Romeo Neri to set up a second round tie with Lecce next week.
An Alessandro Frara penalty had given Rimini - relegated to Lega Pro 1 from Serie B last term - a first half lead but Alfonso Trapani levelled for the visitors on the hour-mark.
In extra-time, Augusto Burgos was the hero for the fourth tier outfit, scoring the winner with 11 minutes remaining on the clock.
Elsewhere in the first round, Alessandria secured a 2-0 win at third tier rivals Real Marcianise, while Cosenza, Figline and Varese also picked up impressive away wins.
Verona needed extra time to see off Spezia on Monday night while Perugia overcame Nocerina and Lumezzane made easy work of the lowest-ranked club Fano on Tuesday to complete the opening round.
Serie B clubs enter the fray in the second round on August 9, while the first batch of Serie A clubs open their cup quest in the third round on August 15. The remaining eight top-flight sides start in the fifth round, in November and December.
All matches, except for the semi-finals, will be decided by one match including the final which will take place on May 5, 2010.
