Ruotolo barred from coaching Livorno

The Italian Football Federations (FIGC) has announced that Gennaro Ruotolo does not have the necessary coaching qualifications to manage newly-promoted Livorno in Serie A next term and no exception will be made.

Gennaro RuotoloRuotolo was appointed caretaker coach in May, replacing the sacked Leonardo Acori, and guided the Tuscans to promotion via the Serie B play-offs.

The 42-year-old, who was handed the job on a full time basis last week, will now have to quickly finish his coaching badges or face being replaced.

New rookie AC Milan boss Leonardo was allowed to take charge by the FIGC because the Brazilian World Cup winner is completing his coaching course at the Federation's Technical Centre in Coverciano this summer.
