Palermo have pulled off a coup by signing highly-rated Argentina star Javier Pastore for an undisclosed fee.
Pastore was linked with a host of Europe's top clubs after impressing at Huracan over the last few years.
The likes of Serie A champions Inter and English champions Manchester United have been credited with an interest in Pastore, but Palermo have managed to lure the 20-year-old to Sicily.
"US Palermo announce they have registered Javier Pastore's contract with the league," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The contract will expire on June 30 2014. The paperwork has been completed for several days, but the official confirmation was only given now out of respect for the player's commitments."
The Argentine Torneo Clausura only ended last week with Pastore's side Huracan finishing runners up to Velez Sarsfield by just two points.
