The Orobici made the announcement this evening after snapping up the Paraguayan international in a permanent move.Barreto has been with Reggina for the last two seasons, scoring five goals in 68 Serie A games.
Following their relegation to Serie B, the 25-year-old decided to move on and has returned to the top flight with Atalanta.
Barreto is the second major purchase in as many days, as the Bergamo-based club also snapped up Fabio Caserta from Lecce on Friday.
The 20-year-old moves for an undisclosed fee and joins former team-mate Simone Tiribocchi, who was signed earlier this summer.
