[Mercato] Livorno eye Lucarelli return

Livorno President Aldo Spinelli expects Cristiano Lucarelli to come back to his former club from Parma.

Cristiano LucarelliThe striker enjoyed four successful years with Livorno before joining Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2007 following a falling-out with Spinelli.

Lucarelli's stay in Ukraine lasted a disappointing six months, with Parma offering him a way back to his homeland.

Both Parma and Livorno earned promotion to Serie A at the end of last season and it now appears the 33-year-old could be set to switch clubs.

"I consider him already a Livorno player, albeit knowing he has not yet put pen to paper. It is a simple detail," Spinelli told the Italian press.

Spinelli is also keen to keep hold of playmaker Alessandro Diamanti, who has been linked with a move to champions Inter.

He said: "A strike-force of Lucarelli, Diamanti and [Francesco] Tavano is the stuff of Champions League teams.

"I would only consider selling them when faced with an offer that really could not be refused."
