The Lega Calcio has announced that Bologna against Fiorentina will open the 2009-10 Serie A season on Saturday 22 August.
Fixture for the new campaign were drawn up at a ceremony in Rome yesterday, with the first two rounds of the season scheduled for evening kick offs to avoid the August heat.
European hopefuls Fiorentina will travel to the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara at 1700 UK time (+1hr for Italy/CET) to kick off the new season, before Siena entertain Milan at 1945.
Reigning champions Inter will then begin the defence of their title when they welcome newly-promoted Serie B champions Bari to the San Siro on Sunday at 1700, followed by the rest of the opening day fixtures at 1945.
The Milan derby in Week 2 has been brought forward to the evening of Saturday 29 August while the crunch match between Roma and Juventus will take place the following day at 1700.
All kick-off times listed are UK time (+1 for Italy/CET). Fixtures and kick off times are subject to late change.
