Brescia will play Livorno in the Serie B play-off final after they secured their ticket in impressive fashion, beating Empoli 3-0 in the semi-final second leg.
However, the game at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti could have been called off before the start after fans entered a restricted area of the stadium, delaying the kick off by 25 minutes.
When the match finally started with the tie at 1-1 from the first leg, everything went to plan for Brescia, who just needed to avoid defeat to qualify.
Empoli came into the came knowing they had to win, but it wasn't long before the home side took control. They went close to scoring on two occasions through Davide Possanzini and Andrea Caracciolo in a goalless first half.
The Rondinelle did eventually take the lead ten minutes into the second half thanks to Davide Zoboli's perfect header following a corner kick.
Empoli, who saw Rocco Sabato sent off with 20 minutes remaining, struggled to react and the home side decided to continue their push forward to wrap up the win.
And they were rewarded twice in injury time with Adam Vaas and Andrea Rispoli finding the net for a 4-1 aggregate win.
Alberto Cavasin's men will now host Livrono in the first leg of the play-off final on Sunday 14 June. The winner on aggregate after the return on Saturday 20 June will join Bari and Parma in Serie A next season.
