With holders Sampdoria and favourites Inter dumped out in the previous round, the trio were among the new favourites to lift the "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti".On Monday Viareggio Tournament champions Juventus were shocked 3-1 by Palermo, while Chievo squeezed past Coppa Italia winners Genoa on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Siena secured a 2-0 win over Lazio on Tuesday, while Udinese completed the semi-final line-up with the same scoreline against Reggina.
