Napoli have made their second high-profile signing in as many days, following up Fabio Quagliarella with Luca Cigarini.
Confirmation of the transfer came from Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi, who owns 50 per cent of the 22-year-old playmaker.
Atalanta own the other half of his contract and their President, Alessandro Ruggeri, is expected to agree to the deal.
"By now, everything has been done so Cigarini can move to Napoli," Ghirardi told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"The relevant papers will be signed at the end of the week, but there is a deal between me, [Napoli President Aurelio] De Laurentiis and Ruggeri."
The cost of the transfer is yet to be made public, but the Italian press speculate it could be worth as much as £10million.
