Serie A - Week 37: Midweek Review

Lazio 1-0 RegginaReggina have been relegated from Serie A with a game to go after they lost 1-0 to Lazio in Rome on Wednesday night.

LAZIO 1-0 REGGINA
Lazio condemned Reggina to relegation from Serie A with a 1-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico. The match was brought forward from the rest of Sunday's penultimate weekend programme to give UEFA time to prepare the stadium for next week's UEFA Champions League final. Mauro Zarate's first-half strike was enough to end Reggina's seven-year spell in the top-flight. The Argentine ace scored the only goal of the game on the half-hour mark when he latched onto Ousmane Dabo's ball to poke the ball home. Franco Brienza wasted Reggina's best chance to score before half time when he took the ball too wide in a one-on-one with Juan Pablo Carrizo to give the keeper and defence time to get back. Brienza was denied by Carrizo in the second half as Lazio held on for the win to send Reggina down to Serie B. Reggina are four points behind 17th-placed Torino with one match remaining.
