[Mercato] Roma pick up Motta

Roma have signed Italy Under-21 captain Marco Motta on loan from Udinese until the end of the season with an option of signing the right-sided player on a permanent basis in the summer for a fee of 7m euros.

The 22-year-old product of Atalanta's youth system joined Udinese in 2005 and returned to the Stadio Friuli in the summer after a loan spell at Torino.

This term he has played 14 games in Serie A and five in the UEFA Cup for Udinese.

Motta is the second defender to join Roma in recent days as the Giallorossi signed Malian international Souleymane Diamoutene on loan from Serie A rivals Lecce on Saturday with a view to a 3m-euro transfer in the summer.
