Adriano handed three-match ban

Inter striker Adriano has been found guilty of violent conduct and handed a three-match suspension.

AdrianoThe Lega Calcio's Disciplinary Committee charged Adriano after reviewing television images which showed the Brazil forward throwing a punch at Sampdoria defender Daniele Gastaldello in the stomach after 38 minutes during Sunday's game.

The referee Domenico Celi failed to see the action that took place with the score at 0-0 and Inter went on to win 1-0 thanks to Adriano's goal on the stroke of half time.

Adriano will now miss Wednesday's game at Catania, and the following matches against Torino and Lecce but he will return in time for the Milan derby on February 15.
