The 29-year-old gave the Viola the lead after 11 minutes against the German giants and went on to complete the match, however subsequent scans have shown the Romanian international has "a first degree muscular lesion to the adductor" that will rule him out for a couple of weeks.The setback comes a week after the Tuscan club denied reports Mutu required a knee operation, saying that coach Cesare Prandelli would decide whether or not to play the striker "on a case-by-case basis over the next month".
Mutu has already started receiving physiotherapy, ruling him out of Sunday's Serie A game at home to Atalanta and almost certainly the following league fixture at Cagliari on 16 November.
