Chievo replace Iachini with Di Carlo

Following their 3-0 loss at Palermo on Sunday, Chievo have sacked coach Giuseppe Iachini and replaced him with Domenico Di Carlo.

President Luigi Campedelli & Domenico Di CarloIachini, who won promotion to Serie A with Chievo last term, leaves the club third from bottom in the table with six points from ten games.

"We deserved more than six points, but we were unlucky and had too many injuries," the 44-year-old Iachini said.

"Even though they sacked me, I want to thank the club and I really wish them the best."

Di Carlo, also 44, will face Juventus on Sunday in his first game in charge. The former Vicenza midfielder made his debut as a top-flight coach with Parma last season, but was dismissed in March, two months before the club were relegated.

Chievo's decison to change their coach comes just one day after fellow newly-promoted side Bologna sacked Daniele Arrigoni for Sinisa Mihajlovic.
