Udinese midfielder Gaetano D'Agostino has thanked coach Pasquale Marino for helping him secure a place in Marcello Lippi's Italy squad.
The former Under-21 star earned his first call-up to the senior side for the friendly against Greece on Wednesday with some superb performances for the Zebrette this term.
"It's the realisation of a dream," the 26-year-old said.
"I want to dedicate this call-up to my boss Pasquale Marino who has always believed in my abilities, even when things weren't going well from an individual perspective.
"As happened with Andrea Pirlo under Carlo Ancelotti, I have found a better tactical awareness under Marino's leadership."
