Argentine striker Diego Milito has returned to Genoa and the Grifone have also bought Palermo's Bosko Jankovic on loan.
Milito was a huge success at the Stadio Marassi when he arrived at the start of 2004 and scored an impressive 33 goals in 59 Serie B games.
The 29-year-old then moved to Spanish side Real Zaragoza after Genoa were demoted to Serie C but following Zaragoza's relegation from the top-flight last term, he opted for a return.
English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur reportedly matched Genoa's £6million bid, but Milito's desire to return to Italy proved decisive and has signed a three-year deal.
Grifone President Enrico Preziosi has also engineered a swoop for Serbian starlet Jankovic.
The former Red Star Belgrade man signed for the Rosanero last summer but has had few chances to impress in Sicily and has decided to relocate to Liguria on loan for the season.
