Roma have announced the signing of forward Jeremy Menez from Monaco for an initial €10.5m fee.
The 21-year-old product of Sochaux's youth system has joined the Serie A giants on a four-year contract, in a transfer that could rise to €12m depending on Roma's UEFA Champions League appearances.
Menez leaves Monaco after three seasons at Stade Louis II in which he scored 14 goals in 57 Ligue 1 games.
Although he was called up by France in 2008, Menez remains uncapped at senior level. He was, however, part of Les Bleus' UEFA European Under-17 Championship winning team of 2004.
The following January, he set a Ligue 1 record by scoring a 12-minute hat-trick for Sochaux against Bordeaux.
Roma, who today named Rossella Sensi – daughter of the late Franco Sensi – as their new President, have also signed John Arne Riise, Simone Loria and Julio Baptista this summer.
