Kaka meets fresh setback

AC Milan star Ricardo Kaka will miss the start of the new Serie A season after meeting with a setback in his recovery from a knee injury.

Ricardo KakaKaka has been hampered by a knee problem for several months and is still feeling persistent pain in the joint.

A check-up has uncovered a second problem - a form of inflammation - and he has been ordered to rest for the next 15 days.

The setback means the Brazilian playmaker will be ruled out of next weekend's season opener against Bologna.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Today the footballer Kaka was subjected to a control check by professor (Marc) Martens who had already checked up on him in the past few months.

"Martens confirmed that the player's knee is inflammated, and advised him to continue for 15 days with the therapeutic protocol he is following."
