[Mercato] Lecce snap up Cacia

Serie A newcomers Lecce have pounced to sign promising Piacenza hitman Daniele Cacia.

Cacia spent the second half of last season with Fiorentina, who had owned 50 per cent of his rights, but Piacenza bid more for the 24-year-old this summer.

After warming the bench in Florence for five months, Cacia has been handed a second chance at making his mark in Serie A.

Lecce need a strike partner for the dangerous Simone Tiribocchi and have lost Elvis Abbruscato to Torino.

Chievo had been considering a move, but lacked the financial acumen required, leaving agent Francesco Romano to finalise details with Lecce this afternoon.

With Piacenza, talented No 99 Cacia hit an impressive 35 goals in 91 games.
