[Mercato] Atalanta win race for Cigarini

Atalanta have bolstered their squad by signing Luca Cigarini on a co-ownership deal from relegated Parma.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who has penned a four-year-contract, will join his new team-mates after representing Italy at the Olympic Games in Beijing next month.

Cigarini made 32 Serie A appearances for the Ducali last season, scoring three times.

The Bergamo club will be hoping that this signature will appease some of their fans, who were aggrieved at the decision to snap up Christian Vieri earlier this week.
