Fiorentina have continued their preparations for the new season with the signing of Brazilian forward Jefferson.
The ambitious Serie A club have already brought in Alberto Gilardino, Gianluca Comotto, Juan Manuel Vargas, Felipe Melo and Stevan Jovetic this summer.
And coach Cesare Prandelli has now swooped for highly-rated 20-year-old Jefferson, who had been linked with a number of other European clubs.
"Fiorentina would like to communicate the permanent signature of Jefferson, who is committed to the club on a four-year contract," read a statement on the club's official website.
Jeferson made his debut for Parana in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength in recent years.
He will now look to continue his development and make a big impact with Fiorentina, who have a number of promising young players including Riccardo Montolivo, Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Giampaolo Pazzini.
The Viola will play in the Champions League this season after finishing fourth in Serie A last term.
