[Coppa Italia] No Inter-Roma Final

There will be no repeat of the last four Coppa Italia finals, as Inter and Roma have been placed in the same side of the draw.

The two clubs have clashed in the Final for the last four consecutive seasons, the 2008 edition won by the Giallorossi.

There won't be a fifth, as the tennis-style Coppa Italia draw has placed them on the same side, so if they are to meet it will be in the quarters.

To get there, the Nerazzurri are likely to meet either Genoa or Palermo, while Roma face either Bologna or Bari.

In the other half Milan and Fiorentina are headed for a potential quarter-final showdown, as are Napoli and Juventus.

Before then the Rossoneri would go through either Lazio or Atalanta, while Juventus could cross paths with Chievo or Catania.

The Coppa Italia Final will be a one-off match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on May 13, 2009.

The competition begins with the two preliminary rounds on August 9 to 17, with the first round on August 9. The first Serie A teams enter the fray in the third round on August 23.

The top seeds open their cup campaign in the fifth round in November and December.
