[Primavera] Samp clinch Scudetto

SampdoriaMattia Mustacchio scored a stunning winning goal in the closing stages of the Campionato Primavera final to give Sampdoria a 3-2 win over Inter.

Sampdoria, beaten finalists last year, made a strong start in Chieti but it was the defending champions Inter who took the lead on the half-hour mark through Daniele Pedrelli.

Samp levelled within four minutes through Andrea Poli, who passed the ball into an open goal after goalkeeper Vid Belec failed to hold onto an initial shot.

SampdoriaFulvio Pea's side then edged in front on the hour-mark when Vladimir Koman converted Stefano Scappini's headed assist, but the Nerazzurri replied quickly as Mario Balotelli scored from the penalty spot after Poli handled the ball in the area.

Second-half substitute Mustacchio sealed victory for the Blucerchiati with eight minutes remaining, his 35-yard effort taking a deflection off Daniele Federici, giving Belec no chance in goal.

After lifting their first Primavera Coppa Italia in April against Atalanta, Samp have now secured the Campionato Primavera - Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti for the first time in their history to complete a historic League and Cup double in 2008.
