[Mercato] Antonini earns Milan return

AC Milan have agreed a deal with Empoli to bring co-owned midfielder Luca Antonini back to San Siro.

The 25-year-old hails from Milan and was a Rossoneri youth product but has spent his whole career being farmed out for loan spells.

After representing Padova, Prato, Ancona, Sampdoria – where he was co-owned - Modena, Pescara, Arezzo, Siena and Empoli, Antonini has finally been brought back to the fold.

"I can confirm that we have agreed a deal with Empoli for Antonini," Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani confirmed in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"He will take the place of Serginho in our squad for next season."

Antonini played 25 games for relegated Tuscans Empoli last term and will provide cover next season.
