Fiorentina have made Partizan Belgrade midfielder Stevan Jovetic their second major signing of the week, paying the Serbian club a reported €8m for the 18-year-old Montenegrin.
Having landed AC Milan forward Alberto Gilardino on Wednesday ahead of their return to the UEFA Champions League next season, the Viola beat off competition from a number of top European teams to recruit Jovetic on a long-term deal.
Jovetic scored eleven goals in 23 games for Partizan last term, captaining the Belgrade giants to championship glory.
He is already a full international with Montenegro after winning his first cap in March 2007 and is the captain of the country's Under 21 side.
