Fiorentina will join Inter, Roma and Juventus in the UEFA Champions League after winning the race to finish fourth ahead of AC Milan.
La Viola went into their final day fixture two points clear of Milan and knew that a win, against a side who had already secured Serie A survival, would see them qualify for Europe's top club competition.
Anything less than the three points would have seen them usurped by Milan after their 4-1 success at home to an Udinese side who will join the Rossoneri and Sampdoria in the UEFA Cup.
But Cesare Prandelli's side, who reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup this season, did not slip up in their final game as a 75th-minute winner from Pablo Daniel Osvaldo in Turin gave them qualification into the tournament for the first time since 2000.
Carlo Ancelotti's Milan, meanwhile, miss out on Champions League football for the first time in seven years.
