Serie A Week 30: Inter v Juve

Inter's Serie A lead over Roma was reduced to four points with a 2-1 home defeat by Juventus in the Derby d'Italia on Saturday night.

INTER 1-2 JUVENTUS
The Serie A champions had not lost a league game at home since April 2007 but third-placed Juventus were not intimidated by that run against their old rivals. Early in the second half Mauro Camoranesi latched on to a pass and produced a confident finish, and not long after the hour mark Alessandro Del Piero set up David Trezeguet to double the lead. Maniche gave Inter hope with seven minutes left but Juve held on for the points.

Roma had put pressure on the Nerazzurri earlier on today with a 2-1 defeat of Empoli at the Stadio Olimpico. With just eight Serie A games to go, the gap between the top two is just four points as the Scudetto race sets to go right to the wire.
