Juve stadium funding given go-ahead

The Juventus board of directors have approved funding for the construction of a new stadium.

The new ground, which will be on the same site as the current Stadio Delle'Alpi, is estimated to cost 105 million euros and is expected to be completed in just over three years, in time for the 2011/2012 season.

Juve are currently playing their home games at the Stadio Olimpico, sharing with city rivals Torino, having moved out of their own ground in 2006.

The board have given chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc ownership of the project, which will not require a capital increase, the club confirmed.
